The beach sits on the eastern side of the Lustica peninsula, inside a sheltered bay facing the Tivat shoreline. Its fine pale sand extends roughly 300 metres in a shallow curve, backed by a grove of mature pine trees that reach almost to the waterline. The water deepens gently, staying below chest height for 20 to 30 metres out from the shore. The combination of sandy bottom, shallow water and the sheltered bay position makes Plavi Horizonti the preferred family beach on this side of the peninsula. Sea temperatures track the inner Bay of Kotor, running warm from late May through early October.
