The beach extends for roughly two kilometres from the Institute at the eastern end to the small inlet near Njivice, giving it the longest continuous managed stretch in the Herceg Novi municipality. The surface is a mix of coarse gravel, fine pebble and patches of sand accumulation, softer underfoot than the rockier stretches directly below the Old Town. The water deepens gradually, which makes it one of the more suitable beaches in the bay for small children and for less confident swimmers. The sheltered position inside the Bay of Kotor means almost no surf: sea conditions stay flat in all but the most severe south-westerly winds. Lounger and umbrella rental operates along most of the beach in summer, with pricing typically around €10 to €15 per set.
