Buses connecting Herceg Novi to Podgorica, Kotor, Herceg Novi and regional destinations depart from the main bus station (Autobuska stanica) on Jadranski put. Journey times to Podgorica (70km) are 1.5 to 2 hours, Kotor (35km) 45 minutes, and Herceg Novi (60km) 1.5 hours. Single tickets cost €3 to €8 depending on distance. Passes for multiple journeys or unlimited monthly travel are available. Schedules run throughout the day, with morning departures (06:00 to 08:00) busiest. Longer-distance coaches are air-conditioned and carry a toilet; the shorter regional runs often have neither. Payment is cash euros at the ticket window or on the bus; card payment is not always available. Several operators run these routes, with Blue Line, Autotrans and Nikšićka prevozna among the largest on the coastal corridor. Luggage travels in the hold. Bicycles are charged as separate luggage. The terminal has waiting areas, a café and toilets. Booking ahead is advisable for summer travel, particularly for afternoon departures, and when the August services around the bay run full, a hire car puts the schedule back in your own hands.
