The bronze figure stands 5.6 metres tall…This monument honours Stefan Tvrtko I Kotromanić, the Bosnian king who founded Herceg Novi as a fortified town in 1382. The bronze figure stands 5.6 metres tall and weighs over a tonne, the work of the sculptor Dragan Dimitrijević, who cast it in Zagreb and gave it to the town for the 631st anniversary of its founding.

It rises on the waterfront promenade close to Forte Mare and the marina, where strollers along the Pet Danica seafront pass beneath the figure of the medieval ruler.
