Small Pebble Beaches Around Fishing Village Rose
A small fishing village on the northwest tip of the Lustica peninsula, Rose faces directly across the bay mouth toward Herceg Novi Old Town. The village centre and its collection of low-key seafood konobas sit around a sheltered harbour, with a string of small pebble beaches running along the shoreline on either side. None of the Rose beaches are large, most are 50 to 80 metres of pebble tucked between stone outcrops, but the water is shallow, clear and warm, and the village's position inside the bay keeps conditions calm in almost all weather. The beaches closest to the village itself stay relatively busy on summer afternoons, while those walkable along the coast path toward Žabljak Crnojevića empty out within a 10-minute stroll.
Access by boat is ten minutes from the Herceg Novi marina. Water taxi fares run €20 to €35 each way depending on the boat and season. The Rose road via Radovanići crosses the Lustica interior and ends with a steep descent into the village. The Kamenari-Lepetane ferry connects the other end of the peninsula to Tivat, making Rose reachable by car in about an hour via a full loop of the bay.
The village's five or six seafood restaurants are a draw in their own right. Several specialise in whole grilled fish by the kilogram, caught the same morning from the waters directly offshore.
